Positive Thinking Holds Power
57Change your thoughts
I love when someone sends me something that makes me look inside myself and think. I received a motivational email today with various topics, but a common theme. The theme was to focus on the positive aspects of life. This may seem cliche to some, but to those who hopefully read my articles you also are searching and looking for a better and healthier way to live life to the fullest.
One clip stands out to me, as it read, "Change your thoughts and change the world." Wow how true is this for me in life now. I suffered along time with what is typically called, "Stinking Thinking". My thoughts were dark and twisted and filled with self pity and loathing. I suffered needlessly, or so I thought. Really I suffered due to my own thought process.
I believe it now when I hear that everything has a meaning and a purpose and nothing happens by mistake, but I really struggled with that idea for years. Everything I did was a result of misconceptions and feelings of being slighted. My thinking was vengeful and I justified everything I did wrong with something someone did to me or something that happened to me. How blind I was to my very own actions in creating the dramas in my life.
I don't know about you, but for me it took getting smacked in the head a few times before I saw the light and the reasoning behind the confusion, but I do see clearly now that once I changed my thought patterns, I effectively changed the world in which I live in, and by doing that I gave something positive to others.
Once I changed my thoughts my whole life changed and I felt good deep in that space I refused to see for so long. I could look at myself in the mirror and say, "yes I am worthy and I can do whatever I need to do." I saw the beauty in giving rather than looking for someone to give me something. I was able to talk to people and they saw the light in my eyes and they felt my love coming from within. I could make my kids and family laugh and not worry about me anymore.
Today I write things that touch others and they in turn touch me back and for me, there is no greater feeling in the world than to have someone say, "you've moved me in a positive way and made me chose to feel better." That for me is true, pure, positive power and it all comes from how you THINK.

"you've moved me in a positive way and made me chose to feel better."
I agree 100% with your viewpoint about how our thoughts determine our quality of life.
Thx, Cheryle!
Yes CheryleJ - I think we work too hard - at everything. We have to let go and not hold onto thoughts and ideas so tightly. I had to get old then older and still older to let go - and think positive. It is so ennervating!
Thanks for sharing!
